Milan’s Salone del Mobile is back!

Known as the benchmark for excellence and quality in furniture, Salone del Mobile.Milano will be held between April 4 and 9 at the Fiera Milano Rho in Milan, Italy. The 2017 Milan Furniture Fair is in its 56th edition and expects to bring more than 300,000 visitors from across 165 countries.

Establishing itself as a powerful driver for the growth of Italian furnishing and lighting companies, Salone del Mobile.Milano will continue to strengthen Milan’s position in contemporary furnishing and design in 2017. ‘Be the First to see the Latest’ aptly affirms its role as a major resource for the Italian system and a highlight for professionals, visitors, designers and buyers.

Driven by the sector’s splendid performance during the first ten months of 2016, organizers are hoping that Italian furnishing will boost its hold over international markets. As part of the 2017 edition, 5 exhibitions will be held simultaneously at the Fiera Milano Rho: Salone Internazionale del Mobile, International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Euroluce, Workplace 3.0 and SaloneSatellite. Additionally, an innovative format will be adapted for classic furniture and accessories. Combining homogeneity and fluidity, the layout will present itself under a new name, Classic: Tradition in future. While the space will draw on knowledge and craftsmanship skills required to create classic furniture and objects will be central to its understanding.

Now in its 29th edition, Euroluce will be a part of the fair, showcasing the best of the lighting market. Opening the door to a wide range of products, the lighting exhibition holds innovation and a design-led approach at its helm. Encompassing new devices for light-related technology in industrial, theatrical and medical sectors, the products will bring the latest eco-sustainable materials to ensure energy efficiency, comfort and security.  Additionally, the exhibition will include responsive lighting systems that perfectly pair with home automation systems to create an accessible space.  

Workplace 3.0 will mark its 18th edition at Salone de Mobile.Milano where it will exhibit the ultimate furnishing solutions for workspaces, from banks to post offices, it will comprise of products for various public spaces. The exhibition will act as an idea board for the workspace of tomorrow.

Celebrating 20 years, SaloneSatellite will display a special edition of bespoke pieces designed by international designers whose careers took off at SaloneSatellite. The event will also see young entrepreneurs, architects and interior designers from five continents breaking down the concept of design and discussing its importance.

Salone de Mobile.Milano will also feature two events at the fairgrounds in addition to its primary exhibitions. DeLightFuL curated by Clarmoli Queda Studia will explore everyday living in domestic spaces alongside a short fantasy film by multi-award winning director Matteo Garrone. A Joyful Sense at Work curated by Cristiana Cutrona will reflect on an adaptive and constantly evolving workspace.
